PARENT GOVERNORS Parent governors are elected/co-opted by parents at the school/academy.

COMMUNITY GOVERNORS Co-opted/community governors are appointed by the governing body, they may represent the local community, local business or have the skills that the governing body requires. Speak to individual schools or governor services for further details.

FOUNDATION GOVERNORS Foundation governors are appointed by the school, voluntary trust or organisation that is set up the school to represent their interests. Speak to individual schools or the local school office for further details. Associate members are appointed by the governing body because they have a particular experience/expertise. They can attend committee meetings and full governing body meetings, although they do not have voting rights.
